Honeybabysweetie and I took a week off after Thanksgiving and went to the north Georgia mountains to a cabin that my mom owns.  It's in the forest on top of a mountain near Ellijay and we were lucky because we were there for the first snow.

Mostly we relaxed and fed the wildlife at the cabin with corn, sunflower seeds, and bread.  We had a blast watching the deer, squirrels, racoons, and birds feasting right in the front yard.   I didn't have internet access so it was a challenge tending to my on-line sales business but I brought my laptop and managed to find hot spots when we went into small towns in the area, which allowed me to communicate with my buyers.  On the way to towns we stopped at a frozen apple orchard, and the ate at a quirky bar-b-que restaurant beside a "pig hill of fame", among other things.

Everything worked out with my ebay, Ruby Lane, and Bonanzle sales.  My communications with my buyers let them know that I was still in business and their precious packages would be shipped immediately upon my arrival home.  I had a fantastic week and I'm back at home with my batteries recharged and ready to work hard.  A little rest and relaxation does wonders for the mind and soul.

I'm already planning another trip there in the warmer months.  There are scads of antique shops, flea markets, and quirky little shops in the area.  I love to poke around in them and so does Honeybabysweetie.  The flea markets are more abundant in the warmer months and I'm going to go with resale in mind and take a truck so I can stock up my ebay store with lots of country delights of the non-jewelry variety.  I'm sure I'll find a treasure or two for myself along the way.

Now that we're home, I'm rushing to catch up with Christmas decorating and shopping.  Thanksgiving came late this year and then being gone the week afterwards leaves little time for preliminary holiday planning.  On top of that I had a great sales week while I was gone and spent the first few days back packing and shipping orders.  It's all fabulous fun though.

I just love my new way of life.  Everywhere I go I'm thinking of on-line sales and ways to fill my shop with wondrous wares.  Even a little trip can be a working vacation and still be lots of fun.  Stay tuned because I'll be writing and posting photos about my adventures all along the way.

Sounds fantastic! Us Northerners don’t usually think of Georgia having mountains and snow. I’ll bet it was quiet. Great for recharing! And great to come back to with an empty truck, to poke around in the spring. I’m jealous…

Hi Sally K – come on down & I’ll take you with me any time. (I’ll leave HBS at home when the girls go). Remember I’m not tied to a cube anymore so my time is my own. We could have lots of fun & I’m sure there’s lot of interesting things for Kimbesa’s closet too!
