My New Thomas L Mott Bracelet From The Collection of Joan Munkacsi
This week I was elated to be able to buy a Thomas L Mott charm bracelet form the estate of Joan Munkacsi. Joan was a mentor to many charm collectors and Thomas L Mott are my favorite charms so I think I was meant to own this piece. It’s the centerpiece of my TLM collection now. See more of Joan’s extensive collection as it’s offered on eBay.
Vintage Hat Charm Bracelet
My almost finished hat theme charm bracelet has an alpine hat, summer flower hat, military hat, English police hat, pirate hat, straw hat, and a cowboy hat. I’ve got a few more to buy but it looks pretty fine so far. Check it out……
Wanda’s Vintage Puffy Heart Charms – Really!
I wanted to share with you some photos of two puffy heart charms that have my name engraved on the back. One is a US Navy Anchor repousse, and the other is an enamel finish with stars in the design. I have no idea who the “Wandas” were who first owned these, but it seems fitting that since I’m a Wanda, I should have them now.
Connemara Marble Shamrock Charms For St. Patrick’s Day
Connemara marble is a luxury marble known as “Irish Green” because it’s mined exclusively in the wild rugged Connemara Mountains of western Ireland. It’s a rare highly variegated and veined marble found in over 40 shades, from pale yellow, to various shades of green, and gray. I’m wearing these lucky charms this St. Patrick’s Day
My Vintage Trifari Photo Keeper Pin
I have to share with you this vintage Trifari photo locket pin. It’s different from the normal photo lockets you typically find. This one is square and hangs from the pin with a rectangular link chain. The case opens up and has the teeniest old fashioned photos of a family inside.
Vintage Heart Charms For Valentines Day
Did you ever wonder how a heart came to symbolize love and Valentine’s day? There are a few theories, not all of them romantic. Here are a few legends and lore behind the heart symbol.
Vintage Enamel Christmas Charm Bracelets
It’s hard to believe Christmas is less than 2 months away. Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s time to break out the Christmas charm bracelets. I’ll start wearing my favorite shabby chic vintage Christmas charm bracelet with figural charms soon after Thanksgiving. And I’ve made a new enamel Christmas bracelet from flat charms this year.
Vintage Monet Moving Charm Bracelet In Silver Toned Metal
I just received my final charm for my vintage silver toned Monet moving charm bracelet so I’m sharing photos of the finished masterpiece. These all have pull chains that make the charm move in some way.
What I’m Missing in My Vintage Charm Collection
Yesterday I went through some of my charms and made a list of what I’m in the process of collecting and what I need to complete each theme. And I also decided that I’m going to start collecting Nuvo charms that move. Here’s what I’m missing in my already started collections and these will cost a LOT
Vintage Trifari Coral Blue and Yellow Cabochon Jewelry
Vintage Trifari JewelryI have a small collection of vintage costume jewelry in addition to my charm bracelets. My favorites are plastic jewelry from the mid twentieth century. Featured is one of my Trifari sets. I’m not sure of the name of the collection but these were made in aqua, coral and yellow colors, all coordinated with opalescent white.
Vintage State Heritage Promotional Charm Bracelets
I’ve written before about promotional vintage Heritage Charm bracelets and at the time I just had a couple of them. Since then I’ve acquired more so I thought I would feature them once again. I’ve included photographs of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Illinois bracelets that I’ve added to my collection.
My Vintage Bates and Klinke Charm Collection
I’ve been collecting B&K charms for a while now and have finally finished my first bracelet. It’s a very full and busy bracelet because I put a charm on every link. The four main shapes, scallop, round, art deco, and ships wheel, are all mixed together and there’s no real theme or pattern other than they are all Bates & Klinke souvenir travel charms from all over the Unites States.
My Vintage Enamel Charm Springtime Bracelet
No fun facts or interesting tid bits on the world of charm collecting today. Just a photo of my spring time sterling silver and enamel charm bracelet. This one was inspired by my friend Sandy but of course I didn’t copy her directly. I did buy the yellow enamel daffodil from her Ruby Lane shop [...]
Vintage Wells Enamel State Map Charms
One of my collections that is in progress is a set of United States map charms made by Wells Sterling. They are various enamel colors on the front and have the state slogan on the back. There isn’t a charm to represent Hawaii or Alaska because they were not states at the time these were made.
My New Maps of European Countries Charm Bracelet
I just bought this bracelet on ebay and was going to disassemble it to sell but now I can’t decide if I want to sell it or keep it. It’s got ten enamel sterling silver European country maps including their flags in pastel colors. I’m a sucker for enamel charms.
Vintage Thomas L Mott TLM Charms and Jewelry
A while back I posted some photos of my TLM charm collection. Since that time I’ve acquired a few more so I’m updating the pictures. These are all TLM, mostly enamels, and the bracelet that the British Isle charms are on is also marked TLM. In my quest I’ve found that that the Thomas L Mott company is also known for other jewelry pieces.
Gold Heart Charms Overload
This is my gold heart bracelet. Some are lockets, some puffy hearts, some have stones, some ARE stones, some are enamel, and all are made of 10K, 14K, or 18K gold, even if it’s just the bail. I never wear it because it’s too noisy.
Vintage Trifari Summer White Jewelry In Excess
I believe I’ve OD’d on vintage Trifari White Jewelry. Some of it is made from thermoset, a plastic similar to bakelite; some is milk glass, or poured glass, and some is Lucite. The pieces belong to several different Trifari named collections and they are all circa 1940s through 1960s. I have several duplicates and some [...]
Dept 56 Christmas Village Silver Charm Bracelet
Dept 56 makes a collection of silver bracelet charms that are mini versions of their Christmas Villages buildings. I’ve collected a few and am always on the lookout for more. I’m not sure how many charms are in the series or when they were offered for sale by the company because I haven’t found any [...]
Sea Life Charm Bracelet
No helpful jewelry information in this post, just a photo of one of my gold bracelets. This one is a beach / sealife theme, with lots of enamel fishies. It’s not necessarily vintage although some might be. It’s harder to tell with gold charms. The pelican is my favorite. I think I need to add [...]
Vintage Coro Yellow Thermoset Plastic Jewelry
A little change of pace from vintage charm collecting for your viewing pleasure. This is a parure set made by Coro probably in the 1950s. The set consists of matching necklace, bracelet, and clip earrings. Made from a type of plastic called thermoset, it’s sunny yellow tone has endured the test of time. I’m planning [...]
Why Am I So Obsessed With Vintage Zodiac Charms?
Maybe because there is a specific number of charms in each collection so I know when I’ve completed a series? Maybe because I’m an accountant and I’ve become accustomed to structure and order? Maybe because it was such a popular theme for vintage charm manufacturers and there are lots of different types to collect? Maybe [...]
Vintage Christmas in July Charm Bracelet
I thought I’d share my Christmas Charm bracelet with my readers. The theme is vintage Christmas charms that are mostly 3D or figural and have chipped enamel. This one is aiming for a shabby chic look.
