The Warman’s Costume Jewelry Figurals soft cover book is a compilation of photos and descriptions of costume jewelry, mostly vintage, that was made to represent a person, place, or thing.  There are examples of vintage heart jewelry, Christmas jewelry, patriotic jewelry, birds, replicas of famous people, jelly bellies, and lots more.  It’s a fun book to browse through and look at pictures.  Some of the jewelry shown I can’t imagine anyone ever wearing because it’s so ornate, even to the point of being gawdy. They do grow on you though after learning the stories behind them.  These items are highly sought after by collectors nowadays so if you sell jewelry it’s a great resource for dating and pricing information.
