Nothing Says Merry Christmas Like An $11 Million Tree
As you probably know if you spend any time reading Charm Chatter I love jewelry. Mostly charm bracelets but I like all jewelry really. And I like the Christmas holidays too. All of the pretty decorations put me in a cheery festive mood. So when I saw this story about a Christmas tree in a mall in Abu Dhabi decorated with $11 million dollars worth of gold and jewels I had to share. Really what could be more Christmasy? Since the news first broke the mall management is feeling a little embarrassed by "overloading" the Christmas tradition by flaunting so much bling, but hey, that's what Christmas is all about right? Overloading, overspending, overeating, overkill.....It's enough to send someone "over the edge". Well it looks pretty anyway even if it doesn't really represent the true spirit of Christmas. And at the risk of writing something in bad taste I wouldn't mind getting a closer look at the actual ornaments. For the rest of the world who can only afford to buy jewelry they are actually going to wear here are some pretty gold and gemstone trinkets offered on eBay.....Merry Christmas Everyone!
