Vintage Nuvo British Charms

Nuvo Frog CharmI love Nuvo charms.  Nuvo was a British jewelry company that produced some of the most beautifully detailed and well crafted charms during the 1950's through the late 1970's.  Their specialty was sterling silver three dimensional and moving charms, although they did make some 9K gold charms.  Occasionally one can find vintage Nuvo charms containing colored crystals, like the frog charm in my photo.  The Nuvo hallmark is the company name written in a script style.  These charms are getting harder to find as collectors snap them up for their private collections, and the prices are getting steep for those still on the market.  The selection of Nuvo charms shown below are examples of those currently offered for sale on ebay.

You’re very welcome Joan. I’m a new fan of Nuvo, I think the detail and variety is incredible. If you know anything about the Nuvo Company history or any fun facts, I’d love to hear more about them. Thanks for commenting on my blog.

Well I would love to know more too! I am collating all the pictures of all the charms I get which are Nuvo, so if anyone knows anything and wants to publish a book, (I would not know where to start!) I would be happy to collaborate with pictures.

    Hi,
I stumbled on this while i was looking for more frogs for my collection. I have a pendant that looks just like this one:

it was given to me by a friend when I was about 7. Do you know how can I tell if it’s from Nuvo or if it’s just a copy?

Hi, i have over 80 nuvo charms and know quite a bit of nuvo history. I even know the nuvo’s factory son who still has his dads old nuvo charm moulds and he produces the same nuvo charms but without the nuvo mark as he is not allowed to do that. Just thought i you would all like to know. I too am thinking of writing a book on the basis of all my nuvo knowledge.
